Abstract

The originality of Alfred Schutz’s work lies in its theoretical and methodological perspective,  in that it integrates phenomenology with studies of social reality. His postulate does not separate the foundations of content from the methodology,  producing a synthesis instead of the dualist conception that has been so strongly advocated since early modern thinking. In addition,  his work considers the problem of subjectivity and intersubjectivity in daily life in an attempt to arrive at an objective knowledge of the social player. For  that reason his research on the Other and on Ourselves is basic to his epistemological analysis
