Abstract

This article argues that the act of nomination for transvestites, deconstructs
those appropriate functions and elements that have been attributed to the name itself, as are: sex-gender correspondence, personal identity, biographic lineality and Lacan´s Name-of-the-Father function. This nomination is presented as an inappropriate act that makes it possible to think of the name as a trace that doesn’t not stand for a unique subject representing these elements.
