Abstract

In 1818 Mary Shelley wrote her most famous book: Frankenstein. Today, after two hundred years, the problematization of the birth of this "modern Prometheus" continues to be an indestructible challenge. In this sense, we will analyze the story from Heidegger's concept of being-in-the-world, to finish updating his perspective from the come-to-the-world proposed by Peter Sloterdijk. Therefore, we will move from being-toward-death to the being-toward-birth, understanding Frankenstein as the monstrous overman (Übermensch) we all carry within.
