Abstract
This article suggests a reading of Los Vigilantes by Diamela Eltit that assumes that they know the represents the clear attempt to improve women's writing up to the 70’s, going beyond militancy in relation to gender superordination to a criticism of the social system sustained by Western culture. This critical approach is expressed at all levels in the novel through the plot, word play and literary forms, all of which contribute to the ideological purpose of the work.
