Abstract
In the volume being reviewed, which corresponds to the series "Theory and Criticism of Culture and Literature; Vol. 12," edited by Vervuert Verlag, Frankfurt am Main, 1998, the author reflects on the evolution of the novel in the 20th century through the examination of novelistic materials in European, North American, and Latin American creative spaces.
